I am eternally grateful....

I've been very worried that our insurance company would not renew us. If you haven't heard, the state of homeowner's insurance in Florida is a mess. I've been telling my husband about it, but I was not sure if he had been listening. He brought the mail in last week and handed me an envelope from our insurance co. He said, "I've got some really bad news." I read the letter and it said that they had done a valuation on our property and that we would have a rate increase when our policy renews next month. I was thrilled. I had been worried about finding a company and didn't want to end up with Citizens. Valuation? Pooh! We were due for one anyway. That letter made my day.

An rate increase is better than a cancellation, for sure. Here's hoping you don't need to make a claim on the insurance, but I know, --we have to have it, just in case.

Good luck with the photo shoot! It's too easy to forget to take something with you. It sounds like your manager has been noticing, just hasn't known what to do about it and isn't very communicative about things. NJ

I understand a little bit about getting the colors and contrast right in the photograph. I was trying to get it right to photograph the Ukrainian Easter Eggs. They are highly reflective and it's hard not to have the color wash out. I don't have lights to play around with.

I take my walks alone, and spend a lot of time alone, and you're right. I have many thoughts that I don't have anyone to share with. Of course, I do have an outlet with my writing, but I would really like to have a partner to walk and talk with. Dog walking is good exercise!

I can't get my mind around the horror of that shooting. It's unthinkable. The young man who did it was clearly sending out signals that he was deeply troubled, but no one could do anything about it. Sorrow.
